One of the most famous duel in Japanese samurai history.

Learn Japanese words while watching Japanese movies.

Miyamoto Musashi VS Sasaki Kojiro in Ganryu island in 1612 (historical fact). Musashi fought with a long wooden sword and Kojiro with a 3-feet iron sword. Kojiro got angry because Musashi was always late for the time of duel. Musashi won duels 60 times in his life. Kojiro threw away his sword sheath then Musashi said “You’ve lost.” cause that means the sheath is no longer usable. Musashi didn’t put end to Kojiro’s life because he fainted. Musashi felt so sad because he’s lost the best rival in his life.

  22. Lot’s of todays …
Lot’s of todays action- or war-based movies rely on heavy “tough fight”-scenes. In my opinion, for a movie, a fight needs a meaning, and not bam and pow.
That’s why I love the older samurai-movies like this one or Seven Samurai.
